The Introit is the Dutch carol, “This Joyful Eastertide” arranged by Charles Wood. The Canticles are by Henry Purcell (1659‐1695), the most famous English composer of his time. Since the Cathedral commemorates the ‘Battle of the Atlantic’ on this day, the Anthem is Herbert Sumsion’s very effective setting of the psalm text “They That Go Down To The Sea In Ships”.
