The music for today’s Evensong celebrates the Ascension. The Introit is “Coelos Ascendit” for
double choir by Charles Villiers Stanford, Director of Music at Trinity College Cambridge in the
late 19th century. The Anthem is the jubilant “O Clap Your Hands” by Orlando Gibbons. The
Voluntary is the opening movement of Olivier Messiaen’s work, L’Ascension.
